The Kuna Food Bank continually needs protein sources such as canned meats, canned stews, and nut butters. Please consider donating something from the list below. Examples of these items are available on our Amazon gift list.
Non-Perishable Food Donations
All non-perishable, non-expired food items are appreciated and may be placed in any of our collection bins.
Perishable Food Donations
Perishable food items from the store directly to the food bank are always welcome and may be donated only at the Kuna Food Bank during our open hours.
Food Drop-Off Locations
For your convenience, we have four drop-off locations throughout Kuna where you may drop off non-perishable food items. Most locations have a bright yellow bin.

Where the Kuna Food Bank Stock Comes From
Our Kuna Neighbors
Our neighbors contribute the majority of the food we distribute. The Kuna Community Food Drive held every fall is the most significant source of donations. In November 2025, volunteers gathered and sorted more than 20 tons of non-perishable food donated by the Kuna community. Local businesses and churches supplement our stock by holding mini food drives throughout the year, and we receive weekly donations from Kuna residents or nearby farms. Individual donors trust the Kuna Food Bank to reach the neighbors they cannot help directly.
The Idaho Foodbank
We supplement our inventory by ordering from the Idaho Foodbank twice a month. As a community partner, the Kuna Food Bank can benefit from the contributions food suppliers and manufacturers make to Idaho’s largest distributor of food assistance.
Albertsons
The Kuna Albertsons sponsors a Nourishing Neighbors campaign each fall, giving customers the opportunity to donate cash at the register before finalizing their personal grocery purchases. These donations come to the Kuna Food Bank in the form of Albertsons gift cards, which are normally distributed with holiday meal boxes. The Kuna Food Bank also participates in a weekly food rescue from Albertsons.
Ridley’s Family Markets
The Kuna Ridley’s sponsors the Sharing is Caring campaign every year during the holiday season. Ridley’s employees pre-fill bags with food staples valued at approximately $5 each, and customers can purchase as many bags as they want at checkout. The purchased food bags are then added to huge pallet boxes which are picked up by Kuna Food Bank volunteers throughout November and December.
Walmart
The Kuna Food Bank participates in a food rescue from Walmart twice a week.
Grants and Monetary Donations
Funding we receive from grants and donors goes toward purchasing perishables and restocking pantry staples that run out. For example, the Kuna Food Bank uses a grant from the St. Luke’s Community Health Improvement Fund to provide families with proteins and fresh produce.
